Sainte Croix to Noiraigue via Les Rochat and the Creux du Van

October 9 - 10 2010

This hike has become the traditional closing hike of the season: we have now hiked to the Creux for 7 years running. It is also the 3rd year we have started from Sainte Croix, making our way up to the Mont Chasseron Hotel for lunch on Saturday.

This is the earliest we have done it and the weather was great - apart from a little early morning fog on Sunday.

Keeping a promise made to the Patron of Les Rochat last year, there were ten of us this year, an auspicious number as you will see later.

Those taking part this year were: Eric, Dan, Tony, Peter, Alan, Philippe, Bruce, Ken, Francisco and Norval.

Unfortunately, this was to be Francisco's last with us, for a time at least, as his wife took up a posting to Mexico City in early January 2011.

What else could we toast it with other than some Schnaps made by Andreas' dad!
But where's Ken?
He legged it with Tony's Grappa! With Jolla's rocket fuel in us we soon caught him up and toasted the occasion all over again!!
