Basel Hausmen - Hiking Section

Hiking Section

The hikes are organised by one member of the group for his own benefit. If you would like to join him, he will be very pleased to make all the necessary arrangements (sleeping, dining, travel, etc.) on your behalf - with the exception of insurance - and will be happy to have you join him on the hike. Please bear in mind, though, that once bookings have been made, you are liable for any costs incurred whether you come on the hike or not.

Disclaimer

Hiking in the Alps (or any other mountainous area, for that matter) can be risky and requires a certain degree of fitness. Weather conditions can change suddenly, without notice. Each individual is responsible for his own equipment and insurance.

Whilst every endeavour is taken to follow a safe route, using maps produced by the Swiss Federal Office of Topography, the integrity of each route can never be fully guaranteed. Each individual will be responsible for his own safety, assuming liability himself for any injuries that he may sustain.

In short, you are welcome to come along but you are doing so entirely at your own risk. It is essential, therefore that you have the appropriate insurance cover in case of loss of or damage to equipment or rescue. That said he wouldn't do it if there was too much danger involved!
